You don't see a lot of scours in mature beef cows. Their stools can become loose if they are consuming high-quality alfalfa or vegetative, immature grass. If the scours are caused by feeding a high-quality hay like alfalfa, then consider feeding a combination of grass hay and alfalfa.

Sometimes loose stools are caused by coccidiosis. A result of coccidiosis is blood in the feces. Consider contacting your veterinarian to make sure that is not the cause.
