Woody biomass can be burned in a fireplace or boiler for heat, steam and other energy. It can be converted into solid, liquid, or gaseous fuels and products. It can also be pyrolysed or gasified to produce liquid fuels or gases. All forms can be burned to produce heat or to produce electricity or both in a combined heat and power facility.
