Have a question? Try asking one of our Experts

My two-year-old colt jumped out of his 4.5-ft. fence. He was out through the night, but I got him back to the barn with no apparent injuries. He now has an extremely swollen scrotum. I can't get a hand on that area without getting a foot thrown at me, and that is not his nature. He is in a lot of pain. What should I do?

Since his scrotum looks different than it did before he jumped out, and since he appears to be in pain, contact a veterinarian for a thorough evaluation. The veterinarian will be able to sedate him and check for injury or damage.
