What should I do to prepare for an evacuation if I have an elderly, homebound, or disabled person in the household?

Pre-planning is always important, but even more so in these situations. Plan to evacuate as soon as possible, as it may take more time to prepare and leave the area. In some areas, the local government will have a database of people who require special needs during an emergency.
