Do home mortgage and lending institutions require a well water analysis before approving loans for people purchasing properties with private water systems?

Many lending institutions do require a well drinking water analysis before approving a mortgage, and others likely will in the future. The most commonly required drinking water tests are for arsenic, uranium, petroleum products and bacteria. In areas where specific problems have been identified, other tests may be required.
