Guaranteed Loans, Direct Loans and Grants are available through USDA Rural Development to finance drinking water well system repair or replacement. These loans are available to low-income rural residents who own and occupy a dwelling in need of repair, to include waste water systems and well water supply. These loans are available at 1 percent interest and may be repaid over a 20-year period. For more information contact either the National Well Owners Association (www.wellowner.org/wellfinance.htm) or your state or field office for Rural Development of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (www.rurdev.usda.gov/recd_map.html).
