Sodium levels in drinking water from most public water systems are unlikely to make significant contributions to adverse health effects. There are no standards for sodium levels in drinking water. The concerns are primarily related to medical conditions such as high blood pressure. If you are on a restricted sodium diet, follow your doctor's advice on the type of water you should drink.
