Does avian influenza infect pheasants?

Avian influenza (AI) virus, or bird flu, has been identified in pheasants. However, losses in pheasant flocks due to highly pathogenic AI virus have not been reported. The behavior of AI virus in pheasants in natural settings is still largely unknown.
