"Going green" at the holidays, by being environmentally aware and reducing trash and waste, is an excellent idea. Some people do this by using newspapers or recycled gift wrap to wrap gifts or placing gifts in environmentally friendly shopping bags that can be reused again and again at the supermarket. Modifying old holiday cards to use as gift tags is another unique idea. Others are e-mailing PDF greeting cards or "annual update" letters, sending e-cards, or posting holiday greetings on social networking Web sites such as Facebook pages.
