Most health symptoms related to mold exposure are allergic reactions, so moving away from a moldy environment is expected to minimize the allergic reaction. Since there is some mold almost everywhere, a sensitized person may still experience a reaction to mold in another location. Also, there may be a time lag between moving to a different location and experiencing a decrease in symptoms. Frequently, people will indicate that they feel better after being away from the environment for 2 to 3 days, but the symptoms occur again when returning to the location.
