The best way is to rest from training until the soreness and inflammation are resolved. The acute inflammation may be relieved by anti-inflammatory analgesics and application of cold packs. Pin firing, or cryotherapy, is used in some cases. In severe cases, bucked shins may be cased by saucer fractures of the cannon bone which may require the insertion of screws to stabilize the fracture. We highly recommend that you contact your veterinarian for diagnosis and proper treatment.
