Is feeding soybean meal to my four-year-old Standardbred appropriate? I was going to feed 1 cup a day for 1 week and increase it to 2 cups. It is 46.5 % protein. What are your suggestions?

Soybean meal is a good way to add protein to your horse's diet. So if this is your reasoning behind the addition, it is appropriate. One to two cups is also appropriate, especially if you are only feeding a poor-quality grass hay. If you are feeding a legume hay like alfalfa, then you probably do not need the soybean meal addition.
