Lychees are very popular fruit in Asia. Once you take off their reddish brown shells, lychees look like large white grapes. Inside is an inedible brown seed that needs to be removed. They have a sweet flowery fragrance and taste like a blend of supersweet cherry and banana. Lychees are usually eaten raw but are sometimes added to cooked dishes such as creamy chicken or rice dishes. They are a great source of vitamin C.
