My daughter's employer filed for Chapter 7. What should she do since she hasn't been paid for three weeks and will lose pay she's already worked for? Any suggestions for making claims with anyone?

This is a legal issue, and advice from a lawyer is strongly recommended. Look for an attorney with strong expertise and experience in employer-employee contract law. If your daughter is unable to afford an attorney, contact a local legal services agency or law school clinic, if available. Another source of information for your daughter would be her union, if she belongs to one. If her employer had a defined benefit pension, she needs to check with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation at www.pbgc.gov about any pension plan benefits that are owed to her.
