You can certainly save some money by growing your own vegetables. Adding up the cost of the plants, soil, nutrients, and materials needed often add up to much less than buying the amount of vegetables you will likely get from your garden. However, money saved is only one part of the equation. You are also providing super fresh vegetables for your family and getting some exercise in the process. If you have children, it is a great way to show them how food grows and get them involved in gardening. Teaching young children early to eat vegetables is a great way to help them develop lifelong habits of healthy eating.
