How much seafood do Americans eat?

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) indicated that in 2007 the U.S. per capita consumption of seafood was 16.3 pounds (7.41 kilograms), down from the previous level of 16.5 pounds (7.5 kilograms) in 2006. NOAA also noted that approximately 84% of seafood was imported in 2007.
