Should I take omega-3 supplements with food?

You can take fish oil supplements with or without food; however, some evidence suggests that you will be less likely to have side effects like gas, heartburn, or diarrhea if you take fish oil supplements with a meal. Whole, ground, or powdered flaxseed should be taken with plenty of fluid; this helps prevent constipation or, in rare cases, an intestinal blockage forming.
