The grape vines I planted last year are loaded with many bunches of grapes - should I leave all of these grapes on the plants?

Young grapevines generally should not carry a crop for the first two years. This period should be devoted to developing the root system and permanent woody structure of the vine, processes with which cropping can interfere. All of the grape clusters should be removed to allow the root system, trunks, and cordons to develop properly. Even three-year-old vines carrying their first crop should only bear a limited number of clusters. Too much crop early can severely weaken a grapevine and must be corrected to ensure healthy vines, quality grapes, and regular production.
