How do I train my grapes?

Grapevines are trained to specific systems to facilitate cultivation, harvesting, and pest control, and to maximize the yield of quality fruit. The single curtain cordon and Geneva Double Curtain systems are the most suitable training systems for most American and French-American hybrid grapes. European or vinifera grapes are often trained to the vertical shoot positioning system, but many others exist as well. For more on training grapes, see:
