Can cooperatives write marketing contracts?

Yes. For example, dairy cooperatives may require their members to sign a marketing agreement or membership agreement. The marketing agreement spells out terms and conditions for members and the cooperative. For example, membership agreements may specify a 30-day written notice is required to terminate the contract and that members are required to market all the milk they produce through the cooperative.
