I am having trouble making my mortgage payment this month. Will my mortgage company allow me to put this month's payment on the end of the loan or just pay the interest on it?

It depends. We strongly suggest that you contact your lender at least a week before your payment due date to work out a mutually agreeable solution to your payment problem. Adding a skipped (missed) payment to the end of a mortgage is just one of several possible arrangements that could be made. Whether the lender will allow this will depend on several factors, most notably your past history of making payments. We would like your feedback on this Personal Finance Frequently Asked Question.
