What should I look for when selecting blueberries at a market?

When selecting blueberries, look for berries that are completely dark blue in color with no red tinge. Choose those that are coated in a frosty, shimmery silver coating. Blueberries do not ripen after harvesting, so it is best to choose those that are already ripe when purchased.
