Description:
Part of the Iowa State University Master Equine Manager Level II 2009 Training Modules. The ISU Equine Nutrition Short Course is designed to assist producers in the feeding management of their horse operations. Course material will include digestive physiology, factors affecting digestion, determining your horse's nutrient requirements, nutritional diseases, selecting grains and supplements, selecting feeds, and evaluating commercial feed labels. Also included will be managing a feeding program for mature horses, performance horses, broodmares, foals, weanlings, yearlings and stallions.The program fee will be $150 for Master Equine Managers Level I and $200 for non-MEM's. Program fees include hand-outs, facilities, refreshments, access to the material on the web, and 0.8 ISU Continuing Education Credits.
