This online course is offered through Wichita State University. All sessions run for six weeks, with a two-week grace period at the end. Two lessons are released each week for the six-week duration of the course. A new section of each course starts on the second or third Wednesday of each month.

Instructor is Marsiea Warren who holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and has dealt personally with each topic in this course. Learn how to help parents or other loved ones through their aging transition can prepare us for our own. You will learn what to expect, what to watch for, how to deal with physical and emotional challenges, and where to find resources to help. You'll understand the impact of retirement, learn how to choose a nursing home, and be prepared to deal with death. You'll learn about financial and legal considerations, health issues, and family interpersonal relationships. You'll learn to handle most of the challenges you will face while coming to appreciate and cherish the privilege of the journey.

Start dates August 19, 2009 and September 16, 2009. The fee is $89.00.
