Description:
The University of Minnesota Extension invites horse owners to attend one of three Horse Owner Education Days. Each program offers researched based information and knowledgeable speakers, identified specifically for that region by a committee of local horse experts and enthusiasts. Speakers for these programs include University of Minnesota faculty and staff as well as local veterinarians and horse professionals. Programs are recommended for ages 13 and up, but are open to everyone. TOPICS TO INCLUDE: Lameness Evaluation & Gait Analysis • Equine Genetics • Is Your Truck & Trailer Road Worthy? • Identifying & Managing Equine Metabolic Syndrome • How You & Your Horse Can Participate in Equine Metabolic Syndrome & Genetic Research • Managing Carbohydrates in Feeds & Forages • Optional Equine Center Tour Program: 9:30 am-4:00 pm (Doors open at 9:00 am).
