Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to: * Learn how grazing enhances equine health; * Learn to manage the health risks associated with forages and toxic plants; * Understand the importance of plants in absorbing soil nutrients & reducing soil erosion; * Collect soil samples & apply nutrients to your pastures using the soil test report; * ID forages, weeds & toxic plants growing in your pastures; * Learn how to renovate, manage weeds, & improve pastures; * Develop plans to rotate pastures; * Evaluate the quality of your pastures & complete a pasture condition score sheet; * Evaluate your equine rations to reduce over-supplementation; * Learn to properly store, compost and apply manure; * Learn how current nutrient management legislation affects your operation; You will receive: Lots of information, opportunities to interact with others & learn about the farm management practices, free soil test kits, a Pasture Evaluation Disc, and hand-outs and materials designed to help you manage your farms.
