Online webinar

September 17, 2010

Description:
This online discussion forum is for new and veteran Profit/Target Team facilitators, as well as consultants who facilitate dairy advisory teams. Facilitation and leadership skills need to continually be honed to be most effective. Finding new ways to motivate your team, to set and achieve goals or to apply management tools make you a more valuable asset to your teams and your clients. Sharing ideas about successes as well as struggles with other facilitators will help you learn how others are managing their teams and making progress with their dairy clients. This real-time, web-based format provides an efficient and effective method to gain new skills and network with other facilitators who work with dairy teams. These one-hour online topical discussions are specifically for dairy team facilitators. Each Friday Forum will have a short 20-30 minute presentation about a team related topic followed by interaction and discussion by participants. Each session will have a “discussion question” that participants should be prepared to answer for their teams. This week's topic: "Legal Considerations When You Are Part of the Team". Instructor: Ross Pifer, director, Penn State Ag Law and Reference Center. Hours: All sessions are 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EDT/EST

PLEASE NOTE: Participants must have a high-speed Internet connection, ability to hear the audio portion of the training, either through headset or speakers, and a Friends of Penn State computer account (can be established free of charge). A microphone is also recommended so you may participate in the discussion portion of the forum. Fee: Free of charge. This online training requires that you register in advance by calling the Penn State Dairy Alliance office at 888-373-7232 no later than noon on the Thursday preceding the first session that you wish to attend. Upon calling, you will be provided information about setting up a Friends of Penn State account as well as the URL for the training site.
