Description:
This annual event brings together trail riders across the state to learn practical advice on trail riding, conservation activities, changes in regulations and legislation, where to ride in Kentucky, and to network with each other on issues regarding protecting trails. This year for the first time, the Summit will offer two sessions designed for the brand new trail rider. These sessions will address how to prepare a horse for the trail, whether it is a retired show or racehorse, or just a new green horse; and how to prepare the rider for the trail including what to carry with you, trail saddles and gear, and how to link into the trail riding community in Kentucky. Full details of the Summit including online registration, can be found at http://www.kentuckyhorse.org/trailsummit/. The cost to attend the 2011 Kentucky Equestrian Trail Summit is $30 ($25 for Kentucky Horse Council members). Registration deadline is January 26, 2011.
