Description: Farmers, chefs, and consumers will meet on Sunday, April 11th to find ways to make fresh, locally-produced foods more easily available in Laramie. Hosted by Laramie Local Foods, this 3rd annual networking event is open to the public.
The Laramie Local Foods Gathering will be held from noon to 5pm on Sunday, April 10th at Whiting High School (at 24th and Sheridan Streets). Participants will find ways to increase production and consumption of locally-grown foods and will have the opportunity to connect with others throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
This year’s Laramie Local Foods Gathering will begin with a keynote session highlighting the exciting things happening in the Laramie area. Short presentations beginning at 12:30 will be by Deborah Paulson from Laramie Local Foods, Tony Hoch from the Laramie River Conservation District, and Gayle Woodsum from Feeding Laramie Valley. Informational booths and vendors will be located in the gymnasium.
During 12 breakout sessions, participants can choose from a variety of workshops and discussions. Topics include: chickens; low-maintenance gardening; pest management; edible landscapes; permaculture; and much more. Breaks will be a good time to meet, connect and share with other attendees.
The 3rd Annual Laramie Local Foods Gathering is organized by Laramie Local Foods and UW Cooperative Extension Service and sponsored by the USDA Risk Management Agency.
