Grape marketing.

The Agricultural Marketing Resource Center is a national information resource for value-added agriculture. Their website offers numerous links to marketing resources for grape growers.

The attached Marketing Wine Grapes, a PowerPoint presentation and accompanying notes, developed by Extension Educator Mark Longstroth from Michigan State University, offers practical advice to beginning growers on marketing wine grapes, including how to talk to wineries, how to set prices to cover the costs of establishing a vineyard, and creating a contract. This is a good place to start if you are thinking of growing wine grapes.

Developed by the University of Kentucky, this grape marketing agreement is a 2-page, fill-in-the-blank worksheet for a cooperative of grape growers.

Marketing Grapes in Tough Times is a short PowerPoint presentation created by Nick Frey at the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission that presents the basics of marketing grapes.

The University of Arkansas publication Marketing Options for Grapes and Grapes Products, focuses on several marketing topics, including finding a market niche; direct marketing options (produce stands, farmers' markets, CSAs, and PYOs); through commercial channels (to wineries and processors, via mainstream wholesale and retail markets); and marketing value-added grape products.
