Last Updated: March 10, 2012

CA tested free (CAF) in an Angus pedigree means that the animal has been tested and is not a carrier for contractural arachnodactyly (i.e., free of the defect). Contractural arachnodactyly (CA) can also be called “fawn calf syndrome.” For more information on the genetic defect in Angus cattle, see this page: www.angus.org.
