Chinese privet (Ligustrum sinense Variegata) can be rooted from both hardwood cuttings (taken in the winter when the plant is dormant) or softwood cuttings taken in the summer. They need to be rooted in a quality potting soil or rooting media, using a rooting hormone, which are sold in most garden centers.
