I have a rue herb bush (Ruta graveolens) that's a little overgrown but is flowering so beautifully. Would trimming it late in the bloom season hurt it, and will it grow back?

Ruta graveolens, Rue

Cultural practices:
Cut back the rue in spring to keep it compact.

Blooming habits:
The small yellow flowers appear in midsummer; they are followed by decorative seed capsules.

After the major bloom of your herb bush is over, you can prune it back in bounds. It should rebloom on the new growth.
