My golden euonymus is about 5 feet high and I have had it for many years. Today, I noticed the leaves are covered with a powdery mildew. Can the plant be saved and how would I treat it?

Euonymus is susceptible to powdery mildew, but it is usually when the plant is in too much shade, in an area with poor air circulation, and/or the plant has been overfertilized. Please refer to the two publications listed below for cultural (organic) disease control options and recommendations of pesticides for disease control. You may want to contact your local county Cooperative Extension office (Cooperative Extension System Offices) for up-to-date chemical recommendations, as products do change and can be taken off the market. Clemson Factsheet: Powdery Mildew. Oklahoma Factsheet: Pest Management Series: Powdery Mildews of Ornamentals and Fruit, Shade, and Nut Trees.
