Description: The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) is organizing the 3rd Annual Fruit & Vegetable Web Conference on May 4th, (Wednesday) from 9 am to 11:30 am. This virtual conference is open to anyone interested in crop production including farmers, crop advisors, gardeners, agriculture industry, Extension personnel and university employees. This is a Web conference, meaning participants don’t have to travel to a far-off location; any person can participate in the conference by traveling to the nearest County Extension office in Alabama and watch it on PolyCom ViewStation (dial 6788) OR watch an Internet video stream from a computer at home/office by going to this link: http://www.aces.edu/go/150. There will be nine expert presenters on various topics of crop production and protection. Some presentation topics include vegetable insect pests and their management, organic vegetable production, production issues in peaches, blueberries and grapes, cucurbit yellow vine decline, hoop house crop production, pecan production and market situation, and marketing of organic vegetables (presented by a producer).
