I have an ornamental plum tree in my yard in Houston. It receives afternoon sun. I want to graft it with a Methley plum dormant bud. How do I find one?

It is rare that nurseries will sell dormant budwood. The best bet is to find someone with a Methley plum tree and just take a bud off that tree and put it on your tree. Wait until the current season's wood begins to lignify or brown. This will usually be in June. Take a one-year-old shoot in June off a Methley tree. A dormant bud will be at each leaf node. Cut the leaf off and use one of these buds. For information on grafting techniques, read: GRAFTING AND BUDDING FRUIT TREES.
