What insecticides can be used to control pine bark beetles?

Last Updated: May 16, 2011

No pesticides are labeled or proven effective for the control of all bark beetles in colonized (infested) trees. This includes microinjection insecticides (like Mauget® or Acecap®). Furthermore, beware of companies that claim their treatment or fertilizer will prevent or control active attacks by bark beetles. These claims are not backed by peer-reviewed, statistically valid, scientific research.
