What do "biophysical effects" of forests have to do with global warming and world climate?

Forests can absorb large amounts of energy which can contribute to global warming. This warming effect is particularly true if the forest replaced an agricultural field that contained annual crops with a relatively low amount of mass. Another biophysical effect is the water that is transpired from trees as they grow. This water can contribute to cooling of the environment by contributing to the formation of clouds that reflect sunlight.
