Invasive species are those species that have been introduced into an ecosystem where they do not naturally occur, and may have the potential to quickly displace native species because of their aggressive spread, high rates of reproduction, and/or lack of natural enemies (predators and/or herbivores). Invasive species can be plants, animals, insects, or other life forms.
