I am confused as to how much potassium to consume. I have heard that 4,700 mg will help with blood pressure, but the Nutrition Facts Panel says 3,500 mg. Which is correct?

The adequate intake (AI) is the amount needed to have an impact on blood pressure, decreasing bone loss, and decreasing the risk of kidney stones. The Nutrition Facts Panel lists reference intakes for a 2,000 calorie diet, which for potassium is 3,500 mg.
