There is quite a bit of information available on raising warmwater species such as catfish, baitfish, tilapia, and freshwater prawns. This type of culture typically occurs in the southern U.S., but there are pockets of the industry in the northern U.S. The Southern Regional Aquaculture Center has many helpful fact sheets regarding the life history and culture of these warmwater species.
