There are four main systems for culturing fish: ponds, cages, recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), and raceways. Each system has pros and cons associated with its use. Careful analysis of your personal situation and resources can help you determine which system to develop. Those with land and water resources conducive to pond construction may want to pursue that. Those who have existing water compounds may want to explore cage culture. Those with appropriate agriculture buildings and large amounts of capital may want to look at RAS. Those in control of large volumes of cool water may look at raceway culture.
