It depends on what grazing practice is being considered. To estimate the economic impact of a management change, you should estimate costs and benefits as well as the impact on the overall operation. Costs can be what is spent on the practice, as well as reduced benefits (production losses). Benefits can include increased income as well as reduced costs. They should be calculated over the life of the practice using economic analysis methods such as net present worth analysis.
