How can we get the managers to focus on resource objectives?

On public lands, resource objectives are established through a planning process. Those managers responsible for the resources should be following that plan. You should obtain a copy of that plan, make yourself aware of that plan, and communicate with the manager about your concerns. On private land, it is up to the landowner to determine resource objectives and to follow those. On ranches operating on a mix of public and private lands with multiple interest groups, there is a process known as Coordinated Resource Management (CRM). CRM is a process whereby the different interests can communicate their goals and constraints, seek to work out differences, and coordinate their activities to meet all their goals. While these CRM plans are not generally binding on any party, they do improve communication and understanding.
