What kind of grass should I have in my pastures?

It depends on what animals you are going to graze in the pasture and what species of grasses are best adapted to your region. You can either visit with your county Cooperative Extension office or the Natural Resources Conservation Service office in your area. Some publications may suggest seeding mixes that are best adapted to your area and well suited for the animal you intend to graze. Seed companies may also be able to give you some recommendations on the best seed mix for your location and grazing needs. In any case, you should know what your management objectives are as you make your decisions.
