There are many career options with a degree in range (also called rangeland resources, rangeland ecology, rangeland management). Federal agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. National Park Service, and U.S. Department of Defense hire many graduates each year to either manage rangelands under their jurisdiction or to work with private landowners in implementing conservation practices State or county agencies in many states also hire rangeland managers. Private consulting firms, agricultural banks, ranches, land trusts, nature preserves, parks, and other landowners may also hire people with degrees in rangeland ecology and management.
