At what stage are trout eggs most sensitive to handling?

Trout eggs become progressively more fragile from about 48 hours after water hardening until they become eyed eggs. The eggs should not be moved during this period. Once the eyes become sufficiently pigmented that they are visible, the eggs may be handled.
