Before a product can be sold as a pesticide, it must be registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA Registration Number found on the pesticide label (usually under the ingredients statement) indicates that the statements on the label have been approved, and the product is registered as a pesticide by EPA.
