Is it possible to can home developed recipes like soups and stews?

It is strongly recommended to use only tested recipes for home canning.  Safe directions for canning homemade vegetable, dried bean or pea, meat, poultry and seafood soup are in the "Complete Guide to Home Canning," Agriculture Information Bulletin 539. Home developed recipes, like soup, may be dangerous and result in botulism poisoning which can be fatal.
