The 2011 Penn State Dairy Nutrition Workshop will be held November 8-10 at the Holiday Inn in Grantville, Pa. This workshop provides applied dairy nutrition information and training to feed industry professionals. The preconference sponsored by Balchem will focus on amino acid nutrition and encapsulation technology. Other lecture topics include milk fat depression, nutrient management regulations, and starch digestibility. Workshops will explore all these subjects and more; a wide variety of topics from forage quality and feeding management to milk quality, transition cows, lameness, water quality, highlights of current PSU research, and tools for helping clients make decisions. Alltech will sponsor the evening session with a look at feed efficiency and the positive future of agriculture. The Lallemand breakfast will include discussion of ketosis, and the post conference will explore cow comfort with the Novus C.O.W.S. program. Dairy feed management planner certification training will be offered, and ARPAS exams will be available as well. The conference will be approved for continuing education credits for ARPAS members and veterinarians.
